When it comes to turning my values into action, it doesn’t matter whether it’s at work or in my personal life. The line between the two blurs or, actually, ceases to exist.
Today more than ever we can no longer hide behind personas that are not genuine nor authentic. We must be fully present and aware of the choices we make – with our thoughts, words and behavior.
This especially requires ‘getting personal with business’. Creating a culture with a common value system as a foundation; will serve to benefit the company long term. Holding everyone, especially leadership, accountable for living out the company’s guiding principles can no longer be just rhetoric; it must become inherent in the daily interactions. The company’s lifestyle should be a reflection of their value system.
As I continue to experience companies, new business owners, or individuals wanting to make a difference; I am compelled to visit personal intentions; for this discussion becomes the catalyst to the kind of value system they are working to design for themselves.
Let this social awakening begin…
